1.
You know it’s a process You know it takes awhile All this time you think I would have learn the time I wear this costume Worn it far too long It’s shadowed and skewed the things I’ve always known It only takes a little time To shed these dirty clothes To shed everything that I’ve known Don’t think cause I’m here I’ve got this all figured out I’m only learning to be me There’s so much more down this road And I know, I can’t make it on my own… So here I am I can’t claim a thing All these blessings dangling from your hands I can’t say I have This figured out When I do, I don’t…then it’s you Chorus I guess I’ve made some progress But there’s so much more You think I’ve gone so far… I’m no where close Chorus
2.
Open up your eyes. Tell me what you find. Has it all been worthwhile? What are all these games, You insist we must play? You know they never solve anything. Let me take you, I can save your life Are you lost or found, Or still just spinning ‘round? Drowning slow but you’re still sinking. Let’s leave this all behind. You know there comes a time, To quit acting like a child. Let me take you, I can save your life You might fake it, but only for tonight You’ve tried to save your mind. And rationalize. But there’s just no use in trying. You’re searching for your soul It’s no where to be found You need to look in the right spaces Full Chorus Can’t you see that I could be, Everything that you could need? Full Chorus

about

Brooke Trisler Seattle, Washington

I had a nomadic youth in Midwest America. I have lived on a farm, on a small island, and along the muddy banks of the Ohio River. I like people; I love community. Taking to songwriting in my teens, I used the guitar to accompany my celebrations and struggles through lyrics and melody. I have no preference of genre, just finely crafted songs.

I moved west for inspiration. My biography is my music.
